WALL, TX — Wall Hawks standout outfielder and state champion, Hagyn Barbee, recently announced where he will play baseball after graduating high school.
Barbee posted on his X account on Monday that he has committed to Iowa Western Community College to continue his baseball career.
Barbee was part of the Hawks' baseball team that claimed a state championship earlier this summer. Wall finished perfect in district play during the regular season before romping through the playoffs, which ended with the Hawks hoisting a championship trophy in the air.
Barbee was key to the Hawks' success. The center fielder was a force on defense. No fly ball seemed out of the young man's reach when Wall needed a play to be made. On offense, Barbee finished the season with 53 hits and 37 RBIs — he added 39 singles, seven doubles, five triples, and two home runs.

His speed continues to be an asset for the Hawks in the field and on the base path. Last season, he stole 35 bases with a 97% success rate.
Barbee still has one more season with the Hawks before he leaves for Iowa College. Wall looks to repeat as state champions next season.
