MCKINNEY, TX — Angelo State has been selected as the preseason favorite to win the 2025 Lone Star Conference football title, the league announced Thursday during LSC Football Media Day at McKinney ISD Stadium.
The Rams received 292 total points and 23 first-place votes in the preseason poll, which is voted on by the conference’s head coaches, sports information directors and select media members.
Angelo State went a perfect 9-0 in conference play last season, earning its second LSC title in three years and a spot in the NCAA Division II playoffs.
Junior quarterback Braeden Fuller was named the LSC Preseason Offensive Player of the Year after a breakout 2024 season in which he threw for a conference-best 2,318 yards and 19 touchdowns, while rushing for 678 yards and 10 scores. The Floresville, Texas native is a kinesiology major and was named the 2024 LSC Offensive Player of the Year.
Fuller was also included on the LSC Preseason Players to Watch list alongside senior defensive end Owen Seaver. Seaver, a finance major from Lampasas, Texas, was named the 2024 LSC Defensive Lineman of the Year after recording 41 total tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks.
Angelo State opens the 2025 season on Aug. 28 on the road at Fort Hays State before hosting Emporia State in its home opener on Sept. 6.
