TEMPE, AZ — The Angelo State women’s tennis program was recognized once again for its excellence in the classroom, earning Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team honors, the organization announced Tuesday.
In addition to the team accolade, seven Rambelles were named ITA Scholar-Athletes: Margaux Rene, Mieke Van Deventer, Elise Gillis, Eva Schwartz, Jessica Li, Ivet Stancheva, and Mary-June Quinn.
To qualify for ITA Scholar-Athlete recognition, student-athletes must maintain a GPA of 3.5 or higher for the academic year. Teams must record a cumulative GPA of at least 3.2 to be named an ITA All-Academic Team.
This marks the eighth consecutive year Angelo State has received the team award since the program’s return in 2017-18. Over that span, Rambelle tennis student-athletes have combined to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete honors 52 times.
