LEXINGTON, KY — The Angelo State volleyball team has been honored with the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Team Academic Award, marking the 14th consecutive year the program has received the distinction.
Sponsored by Intent, the award recognizes programs that maintain a cumulative team GPA of 3.30 or higher. Angelo State’s 14-year streak is the longest active run in the Lone Star Conference and tied for the 14th-longest in NCAA Division II.
"It is very exciting to see that the record-setting, on-court successes during the 2024-25 season have extended to the classroom," said AVCA CEO Jaime Gordon. "The fact that more programs earned the Team Academic Award than ever before is evidence of how committed our coaches are when it comes to helping their players reach their goals as both students and athletes."
The Belles are coming off a historic 2024 campaign that included a 32-3 overall record, a 15-1 mark in conference play, and titles in the Lone Star Conference Tournament and South Central Regional. They also reached the NCAA Division II Final Four for the first time in program history.
Angelo State will open the 2025 season on September 5, hosting the Kathleen Brasfield Invitational at the Junell Center-Stephens Arena.
