MARSHALL, MN — Angelo State baseball standouts Jacob Guerrero and Chase Pendley earned national recognition Wednesday from the Division II Conference Commissioners’ Association (D2CCA), adding to the Rams’ postseason accolades.
Guerrero, a senior from Colleyville, Texas, was named to the D2CCA Second Team, marking his third All-American honor and second this season after receiving the same recognition from the NCBWA. The accounting major posted a .401 batting average and a 1.113 OPS, collecting 89 hits, including 19 doubles, four triples, and seven home runs. He also scored 75 runs, drove in 52 RBIs, walked 41 times, and stole 20 bases, all while anchoring left field defensively.
Pendley, a junior from Prosper, Texas, received Honorable Mention recognition as a designated hitter. In his debut season with the Rams, Pendley batted .390 with a .461 on-base percentage and a .515 slugging percentage. He tallied 78 hits, including 13 doubles, three triples, and two home runs, while accounting for 107 total runs.
The honors continue a strong postseason showing for Angelo State, which has seen several players collect regional and national recognition.
