Wall Powers Past Idalou in Game 1 of Regional Semifinals

MIDLAND, TX — The No. 2-ranked Wall High School baseball team overwhelmed Idalou 10-0 in the opening game of their Class 3A Division II regional semifinal series Friday at Christensen Stadium in Midland.

Wall took a 2-0 lead into the fourth inning, when a three-run triple by Caleb Braden set off an offensive explosion.

The Hawks scored seven runs in the inning to blow the game wide open and take a 9-0 lead.

They added another run in the fifth to complete a 10-0 win that ended early due to the mercy rule.

Wall (28-5) and Idalou (24-6-1) will meet again at noon Saturday for Game 2 of the best-of-three series.

If a third and final game is necessary, it will take place 30 minutes after the conclusion of Game 2.
