SAN ANGELO, TX — A local girl recently broke Lake Nasworthy’s junior waterbody record for a largemouth bass.
Kadence Strain reeled in a 7.85-pound fish that beat the previous record of 7.43 pounds set in 2023.
Strain’s catch also measured 24.5 inches long.
The heaviest largemouth bass ever pulled from Nasworthy in the all-ages category was a 12.71-pounder in 1999.
Strain’s catch is now awaiting official verification from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department to be recognized as the new junior record at Lake Nasworthy.
