Angelo State Baseball to Host Lone Star Conference Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 1-ranked Angelo State University baseball team will host the Lone Star Conference Tournament next week after finishing as the LSC’s regular-season champion.

The Rams will receive a first-round bye in the tournament, which will be held May 8-10 at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.

ASU (41-7 overall, 39-7 LSC) will take an 11-game winning streak into the postseason.

The first-round matchups include No. 2 UT Tyler (40-8) vs. No. 7 Texas A&M-Kingsville (26-22), No. 3 St. Edward’s (31-17) vs. No. 6 St. Mary’s (26-22), and No. 4 Lubbock Christian (30-18) vs. No. 5 West Texas A&M (29-19).

ASU will draw the winner of Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M on Thursday, May 8, at a time to be determined.

The Rams’ final two regular-season games against Cameron last weekend were canceled due to inclement weather in Lawton, Oklahoma.
