SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 7-ranked Angelo State University softball team will host four games at home this weekend to close out the regular season.
ASU will host Midwestern State in a doubleheader at 5 p.m. Friday at Mayer Field.
The Belles will then host the nation’s No. 1 team, West Texas A&M, in a doubleheader at 1 p.m. Sunday.
ASU will carry a 10-game winning streak into this weekend. The Belles are 41-9 overall and 32-8 in the Lone Star Conference.
Midwestern is 19-30 overall and 16-24 in the LSC, while WT is 48-2 overall with a 38-2 LSC mark.
ASU is ranked No. 3 in the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Rankings. The Belles will likely not be able to pass No. 1 WT or No. 2 UT Tyler, even with a four-game sweep this weekend.
The LSC Tournament will be held May 1-3, followed by the regional tournament May 9-11, Super Regionals from May 14-15, and World Series from May 19-25 in Longwood, Florida.
