Angelo State Sprinter Runs Fastest 100-Meter Dash Time in Nation

SAN ANGELO, TX — Angelo State University senior Solomon Odonkor ran the fastest time in the nation in NCAA Division II in the 100-meter dash Thursday at the ASU Invite.

Odonkor was clocked in 10.08 seconds to win the event at LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union Field.

Only 10 sprinters at the NCAA Division I level have run faster times this year.

Odonkor, a senior from Ghana, also won the 200-meter dash in 20.55 seconds, which is the fourth-fastest time this season in NCAA D-II.

Thursday was the final home appearance this season for ASU, which has the No. 12-ranked men’s team and No. 11 women’s team.

The Rams and Rambelles will now prepare for the 2025 Lone Star Conference Outdoor Championships, which are set for May 1-3 in Portales, New Mexico.
