Reagan County, Irion County Standouts Named to TABC All-State Basketball Team

 

SUGAR LAND, TX — Reagan County’s Kason Brown and Irion County’s Seth Sanford were named to the Texas Association of Basketball Coaches All-State Team.

Only 20 players in each classification were selected for the honor.

Brown was selected to the Class 2A all-state team after leading Reagan County to the regional final, which included upsets of No. 6 Olton and No. 12 Plains.

Brown had 20 points and 14 rebounds in the regional semifinal win over Olton.

The Reagan County senior scored over 2,000 points in his basketball career and is committed to play football for the University of Arizona.

Sanford was named to the 1A all-state team. He led Irion County to the regional semifinals following an impressive run to the title in District 11-1A, where he was named MVP.

The Hornets’ senior averaged 20 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists, 2.8 steals and 1 block.

He scored 27 points against No. 1-ranked and eventual state champion Jayton in his final game.
