SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 4-ranked Angelo State University softball team swept four games at home over the weekend.
The Rambelles defeated Texas A&M-Kingsville 2-0 and 5-1 on Friday, followed by wins of 8-0 and 6-2 over Texas A&M International on Sunday.
Cheyenne Floyd picked up her ninth and 10th wins of the season. Against International, she went five innings and allowed two hits, one walk and one hit by pitch while striking out six Dustdevils.
It was Floyd's fourth complete-game shutout of the season and second of the weekend.
Ashton McMillan hit a three-run home run against International.
ASU, which has won five straight games dating back to its 3-2 win over No. 1 UT Tyler, improved its record to 19-3.
The Belles will play again this weekend, beginning with a doubleheader Friday at St. Mary’s and a doubleheader Sunday at St. Edward’s.
ASU’s next home appearance will be Friday, March 14, with a 4 p.m. doubleheader against Western New Mexico.
