Delgado Joins 1,000-Point Club in Chiefs' Big Win

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Lake View Chiefs gained another important foothold in their pursuit of a playoff berth with a huge win over the Big Spring Steers at Lake View High School on Tuesday night. Joseph Delgado also crossed the 1000-point mark in a Chiefs' uniform in Lake View's 56-34 win.

Delgado joins Braylon White (1,058) in the 1,000-point club in a season that has seen both young men shine for the Chiefs.

Check out the game highlights below:

The Chiefs jumped out to an early lead and used an efficient defense to keep that lead the rest of the way. Big Spring had several opportunities to score, but solid defense inside forced the Steers to take contested shot after contested shot to no avail. Lake View outrebounded Big Spring and outscored the Steers in the fast break all night.

Big Spring refused to go away after the break, but clutch shots from beyond the arc snuffed out any comeback opportunity every time the Steers would go on a run. Lake claimed the district victory on Tuesday night, 56-34.

Braylon White led all scorers on the evening with 16 points. Joseph Delgado followed close behind with 14 points.

The Chiefs (12-13, 3-2) return to action on Friday, January 31, when Lake View travels to Snyder to take on the Tigers at Snyder High School. Tip-off in Friday's matchup is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.

In the early game, the Lake View Maidens fell to Big Spring 55-20. The Maidens still seek their first district win in the 2024-25 season but continue to improve each and every week. The Maidens play the early game against the Lady Tigers in Snyder on Friday, with tip-off scheduled for 6 p.m.
