WINGATE, N.C. — The Angelo State baseball team enters the 2025 season as the No. 2-ranked team in the nation, according to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers of America (NCBWA) and the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) preseason polls released Monday.
This marks the second and third preseason rankings placing the Rams in the No. 2 spot, trailing only defending national champion Tampa.
The NCBWA Top 25 features South Central Region opponent Colorado Mesa, while Lone Star Conference rivals Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M also appear in the rankings.
In the ABCA poll, Colorado Mesa is ranked among the top 10, with Lubbock Christian and West Texas A&M also earning spots. UT Tyler, making its first preseason appearance this offseason, is also ranked.
Angelo State will open its 2025 campaign on Friday, Jan. 27, hosting UT Permian Basin at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
