Angelo State Baseball Ranked No. 1 in the Region by NCBWA

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — With opening day approaching, the National Collegiate Baseball Writers' Association released its 2025 Regional Preseason Poll on Wednesday, selecting Angelo State baseball as the top team in the South Central Region.

The Rams earned 78 points and received seven of the eight first-place votes. Colorado Mesa, which secured the remaining first-place vote, was ranked second, followed by Lubbock Christian, West Texas A&M, and Regis to complete the top five.

UT Permian Basin, UT Tyler, and St. Edward's ranked sixth through eighth, rounding out the Lone Star Conference representation in the poll.

Angelo State will open its season at home, hosting UT Permian Basin on Friday, Jan. 31, at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium.
