SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rams will enter the 2025 baseball season as the No. 2 team in the country, according to D2 Baseball’s preseason top 25 poll released Sunday night.
The Rams finished the 2024 season with a 44-21 record and reached the College World Series for the fourth consecutive year, finishing as national runner-up after falling to top-ranked Tampa in the championship game.
Angelo State is one of three Lone Star Conference teams in the preseason rankings. Lubbock Christian is ranked No. 16, while West Texas A&M comes in at No. 24.
The Rams will open the 2025 season with a four-game series against UT Permian Basin, beginning Friday, Jan. 31, at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
