SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University volleyball team is one win away from advancing to the national tournament after a three-set win over Dallas Baptist on Saturday.
The top-seeded Rambelles defeated No. 4 seed DBU 25-23, 25-23, 25-16 in the semifinals of the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament at the Junell Center.
ASU (30-2) will play for the regional title and a spot in the Elite Eight at 4 p.m. Sunday against No. 3 seed Metro State-Denver (29-2), which won in four sets over No. 2 West Texas A&M.
It will be a matchup of conference champions. ASU won the Lone Star Conference title, while Metro State won the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
The Belles trailed 23-21 in the opening set Saturday before winning the final four points to take the win.
After another tight win in the second set, ASU rolled to a convincing win in the third set to finish off the sweep.
ASU was led by Madi Parrish with 17 kills and Demi Carter with 13 kills.
Adeline Ortman dished out 35 assists and had 11 digs. Caleigh Enax also had 11 digs, along with four aces.
