Angelo State Volleyball Wins Opening-Round Match at Regional Tournament

 

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University volleyball team swept its opening-round match Friday over Colorado Christian at the NCAA Division II South Central Regional Tournament at the Junell Center.

The top-seeded Rambelles had to battle but came away with a 25-22, 25-22, 25-20 win against the scrappy No. 8 seed.

ASU (29-2) advances to the regional semifinals at 7 p.m. Saturday against No. 4 seed Dallas Baptist.

No. 2 West Texas A&M will play No. 3 Metro State-Denver in the other semifinal at 4 p.m.

ASU was led by Adeline Ortman, who had team-highs with 37 assists and 14 digs. Madi Parrish had 17 kills.
