DALLAS, TX— It’s a “Battle of the Beaten-Up” teams as the Dallas Cowboys take on the New York Giants.
After the Cowboys win over the Washington Commanders, Dallas has a real chance at turning their season around over the next few games. Thursday, the 'Boys play the New York Giants in their annual Thanksgiving Day game before Dallas plays the Cincinnati Bengals, Carolina Panthers, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
If the defense shows up as it did against the Commanders, the Cowboys have the ability to end the season on a positive note. Dallas needs help, and can still technically make the playoffs, but with so much of the team on the injury report, do fans really want them to get embarrassed again?
The Giants will have a new quarterback under center. New York moved on from former first-round pick Daniel Jones, who recently signed with Minnesota, and now Tommy Devito is out as well. So, that leaves Drew Lock to start.
Offensively, the Giants have rookie Malik Nabers, who has 671 yards and three touchdowns this season. The rookie phenom recently voiced his displeasure with not getting targeted in their last game against the Buccaneers.
Defensively, Dexter Lawrence proves to be one of the best defensive tackles in the game, and he backs that up with nine sacks in 2024. Cowboys’ rookie center Cooper Beebe will have his hands full this game.
Speaking of the offensive line for the Cowboys, future Hall of Fame guard Zack Martin is out but Tyler Smith did have limited participation in practice.
For pass catchers, Jake Ferguson did not participate, but Brandin Cooks is back at receiver.
Fans should stop expecting the Cowboys to tank the rest of the season. They’re the same Cowboys who will rattle off a few wins in Dallas' remaining games, play just well enough to get you invested, and then break your heart.
At least fans get Lainey Wilson for the halftime performance.
The Cowboys take on the New York Giants today at 3:25 p.m. And remember, those who can't watch the game at home should go out to the Arc Light Bar and Grill. Located inside the Clarion Inn at 441 Rio Concho Drive, the Arc Light features great food, awesome drink deals, and a huge screen to watch all the action this Thanksgiving.
On Thursday, the Arc Light offers $3 domestic pints, $4 schooners, and $5 mini pitchers, all domestic.
