Junction Knocks Out Falls City for Biggest Playoff Win in 15 Years

HONDO, TX — The No. 10-ranked Junction football team defeated Falls City 35-13 on Friday to advance to the third round of the playoffs for the first time since 2009.

Junction (11-1) will play Somerville (11-1) next week in the Class 2A Division II regional semifinals at a time and site to be determined.

Though Junction is state-ranked and had the better record, Falls City is a tradition-rich program that played in the state quarterfinals last year.

That playoff experience might have been a factor in the first half as Junction led only 14-13 at halftime.

The Eagles quickly took over in the second half, however, scoring on three straight drives to take command of the game.

Junction's defense forced two turnovers in the third quarter to help flip the game in their favor.

Chasen Doyal threw four touchdown passes, including three to Brock Bierschwale, who also had an interception on defense.
