It's the second consecutive year the Lady Longhorns have been knocked out in this round, and both times it was against Harrold in four sets.

Bronte took the opening set Tuesday but could never make a serious push in the final three sets.

Bronte's season ended with a record of 30-12, while Harrold improved to 38-5.

The Lady Hornets will advance to the Class 1A state final in Garland on Thursday against the winner of Neches and Round-Top Carmine.

This was the 16th time in program history that Bronte reached the state semifinals. The Lady Longhorns have won six state titles, most recently in 2017.
