Angelo State Women's Soccer Earns No. 2 Seed in Playoffs

SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State University women’s soccer team received the No. 2 seed during Monday’s Selection Show for the upcoming NCAA Division II playoffs.

The Rambelles will get a first-round bye and play the winner of No. 3 Dallas Baptist and No. 6 Metro State-Denver. That second-round matchup is set for 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 24, at the LeGrand Soccer Complex.

ASU had a scoreless draw with Metro State when they played in San Angelo in the season’s fourth game. The Belles have beat Dallas Baptist 2-1 in both meetings this year, including an overtime win Sunday to claim the LSC Tournament title.

ASU has a record of 13-1-5 with its only loss coming in the second game of the year, 3-2 against Central Oklahoma.

In the 17 games since then, the Belles have allowed only six goals, while the offense has produced 29 goals.

Colorado Mines is the region's top seed and will play the winner of No. 4 Midwestern State and No. 5 Colorado Mesa.
