Garden City Graduate Wins $100,000 at Barrel Racing Event

 

ABILENE, TX — Jordan Driver, a 2021 graduate of Garden City High School, won $100,000 recently at the Texan Barrel Race in Abilene.

Driver clocked a time of 14.691 seconds to win the title and the hefty paycheck Sunday, Oct. 20, on her horse, TR Heavens Illuminated.

Driver's mother, Jennifer, earned $1,500 for an 11th place finish.

The competition was held over six days and included over 1,500 entrants.

Jordan is a member of the Tarleton State University rodeo team in Stephenville. She finished this season ranked 25th in the Women’s Professional Rodeo Association world standings.

Jordan was also quick without a horse during her athletic career at Garden City. She set the school record in the 100-meter hurdles and was a standout basketball player.
