ELDORADO, TX — The Miles Bulldogs' high-flying offense had a tough time getting off the ground Friday before waking up in the second half for a 21-14 win over Eldorado.
Miles was averaging 44 points per game heading into the evening, but Eldorado shut the Bulldogs out in the first half for a 7-0 halftime lead.
JonnieRae Adame hit Eleazar Hernandez for a 60-yard TD pass to put the Eagles on top.
Miles scored 21 points in the third quarter, however, to take control. Tevin Meade broke loose for two TD runs, and Liam Yancy connected with Dillon Medina for a TD pass.
Eldorado scored with about a minute remaining to try and pull off a late comeback.
Meade finished with 19 carries for 166 yards and two TDs to lead Miles' offense.
Yancy was 10-of-22 passing for 110 yards and a TD. His top target, Cooper Ellison, was limited to two catches for 18 yards, but Medina had five catches for 83 yards and a TD.
Miles improved to 4-0 and faces a difficult matchup next week at Ozona. Miles had a wild 70-68 win over Ozona last year.
Eldorado fell to 1-3 and will host Harper next week.
