SAN ANGELO, TX — The Lone Star Conference announced on Wednesday morning, August 28, that the Angelo State soccer team was picked to finish third, matching last season's result.
The Rambelles earned 500 points in the preseason poll. DBU was picked to repeat as conference champions, receiving 587 points and 41 of the 42 first-place votes, while St. Mary's was selected to finish second with 519 points.
Following Angelo State in the poll were Texas Woman's (456 points), Midwestern State (420 points), Texas A&M International (348 points), and St. Edward's, which received one first-place vote and totaled 323 points.
The Rambelles are coming off a season in which they finished 9-7-4 overall and 7-2-3 in LSC play, advancing to the LSC Tournament semifinals.
Head coach Travis McCorkle returns 19 players from last season’s squad and adds 11 new players.
The Rambelles will open the 2024 season on the road against Oklahoma Baptist on Sept. 5, with kickoff scheduled for 4 p.m.
