The United States added another gold medal to its medal count on Tuesday behind a dominant performance by the U.S. Women's Gymnastics team. Even after a fall in the 3rd Rotation, there was never any doubt that our ladies would take home the gold. Simon Biles anchored the final rotation with an insanely difficult floor routine, where she displayed skills that only Biles would even consider attempting.

The U.S. women claimed their first medal of any kind in rugby when the women's rugby sevens team won a landmark bronze medal. A shocking victory in the final seconds over Australia came from a play that will live on in highlight reels forever. Down by a score in the final seconds after a missed conversion by Australia, the U.S. had over 85 meters to go and no time. Alex Sedrick took the ball, flattened two defenders, and broke away from the pack to sprint the distance to tie the game. The successful conversion staved off sudden death and gave the ladies the victory.

Notable gold medals for the USA include the Men’s 4x100-meter freestyle in swimming featuring Caeleb Dressel, Jack Alexy, Chris Guiliano, and Hunter Armstrong, Lee Keifer’s gold medal performance in fencing, and Torri Huske winning the gold in the Women’s 100m butterfly.
