Six-Man Star Rigdon Transfers to 11-Man State Power

COLUMBUS, TX - Grayson Rigdon, who has won three straight six-man state titles, is reportedly transferring to an 11-man school for his senior year.

Rigdon will play this season at Columbus High School, which is about 75 miles west of Houston. The team went 12-1 last season and enters this year ranked No. 2 in the state in Class 3A Division I.

Rigdon has been the named the state's Player of the Year at the 1A Division II level — the smallest classification in Texas — his first three years.

He helped Strawn to the state title in 2021, followed by back-to-back titles at Benjamin in 2022 and 2023.

Rigdon is committed to play for the Air Force Academy.

Rigdon played junior high football at the greatest six-man dynasty in Texas, Richland Springs, but his family transferred after his eighth-grade season.

Rigdon's older brother, Matthew, led Richland Springs to a state title in 2019.

Rigdon is also a star on the basketball court, where he incredibly averaged over 45 points per game last year.
