TEMPE, AZ — The Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) released its list of academic winners on Tuesday afternoon, July 23. The Angelo State Belles' tennis program earned All-Academic honors, including a record of eight student-athletes being named to the ITA Scholar-Athletes list.
Athletes must have a 3.5 GPA for the current academic year to be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete. For a team to be an ITA All-Academic Team, the program must acquire a team GPA of 3.2.
The Belles that earned ITA Scholar-Athlete honors are Alexandra Vishnevskaya, Ayda Guler, Christine Jevicky, Eva Schwartz, Ivet Stancheva, Jessica Li, Letizia Corsini, and Mieke Van Deventer. Visit angelosports.com for more information on all of these athletes.
The Belles have been named to the ITA All-Academic Team every season since the program's resurrection in 2017-2018. This is the first time in program history that eight athletes have been named to the ITA Scholar-Athlete list.
Belles Tennis student-athletes have earned ITA Scholar-Athletes 44 times over the program's seven years.
