DALLAS, TX — Spencer Dinwiddie has agreed to a one-year deal to return to the Dallas Mavericks, according to reports.
Dinwiddie, 31, was a key member of the 2021-22 Mavericks team that reached the Western Conference Finals.
In 76 games over parts of two seasons in Dallas, the guard averaged 17.1 points and 4.9 assists.
Dinwiddie left Dallas as part of the trade to acquire Kyrie Irving from Brooklyn in 2023. Now he'll be asked to help provide support for the star duo of Irving and Luka Doncic.
The Mavs also added longtime Golden State guard Klay Thompson earlier this month.
Dallas is coming off a surprising run to the NBA Finals this past season, when the fifth-seeded Mavs won three straight series as the road team before coming up short in five games to the Boston Celtics.
