Team USA Dominates Serbia for Third Straight Exhibition Win

ABU DHABI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES — Team USA improved to 3-0 in exhibition play as the team prepares for the Paris Olympics with a dominant 105-79 win over Serbia on Wednesday.

Behind 24 points from Steph Curry and 17 from Bam Adebayo, Team USA powered past Nikola Jokic and the Serbian National team in the USA’s quest for a 5th straight Olympic gold medal. Curry had one of those epic nights where his high-arcing threes never seemed to miss. He went on a hot streak where he scored 18 points in just 11 minutes.

After the USA’s loss to Germany in the FIBA World Cup semifinals, the USA’s Olympic team, deemed “the Avengers” by some, showed exactly what USA Basketball is supposed to be—aggressive, merciless, and pedal to the metal.

The Americans began the contest against Serbia slowly, allowing the Serbians to hang close. Eventually, however, Team USA clamped down defensively and let Steph Curry go off. Team USA’s depth became evident as players like Anthony Edwards and Bam Adebayo shouldered the offensive load even when Curry and Lebron James were on the bench.

Serbia couldn’t last in the end and fell 105-79.

This is Team USA's third straight exhibition win. During this stretch, the Americans defeated Australia 98-92 on Monday and Canada 86-72 in Las Vegas last week.

These final tune-up games are crucial to prepare Team USA for what is to come during the Olympic Games in Paris at the end of the month, and there are still two more games to go. Team USA heads to London for matchups against South Sudan and Germany, and the first matchup is set to tip off on Saturday.
