SAN ANGELO, TX—Angelo State Belles golf recently had two athletes named to the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA) Academic All-American list. Laura Klimova and Lacey Stevens received the honors for their accomplishments in the classroom last school year.
Each of these ladies had to have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or higher to be considered for the list. They also had to be amateurs and on the team roster through the conclusion of the team's season. Finally, they had to have played in at least 50 percent of Angelo State's regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the season.
Klimova is a graduate student from Prague, Czech Republic, majoring in counseling psychology, while Stevens is a junior from Pleasanton, Texas, majoring in natural resource management.
The Belles collected three top-10 finishes last season, including a second-place finish at the Top of Texas Invitational.
