OMAHA, NE — One Texas team still remains in the hunt for a Division I College World Series Championship. The No. 3 Texas A&M Aggies took another step toward that ultimate goal on Monday night, June 17, when the Aggies defeated No. 2 Kentucky 5-1 to move into the Semifinals.
Starting Pitcher Ryan Prager delivered a beautiful performance on the mound, with a no-hitter into the seventh inning. On offense, a low scoring affair lasted thoughout more than half the game until the Aggies finally blew the game open in the 6th inning.
With the win, the Aggies remain undefeated at the College World Series and now have an extra game to play to move to the finals. 1-loss Kentucky and 1-loss Florida will square off on Tuesday, with the winner playing Texas A&M on Wednesday.
On the other side of the bracket Tennessee remains the other undefeated powerhouse. They await the winner of Florida State and North Carolina in the Semifinals.
Wednesday’s matchup is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. All College World Series games can be watched on ESPN.
