Angelo State Rallies to Advance to the Semifinals

CARY, NC — The Angelo State Rams Baseball team squared off with Point Loma on Monday night in Round 2 of the 2024 Division II College World Series. Despite falling behind early, the Rams rallied late in the game to cruise to victory, 13-6.

The Rams had some success early, but Point Loma held Angelo State's offense in check for the first few innings. A two-RBI double from Christian Garnette pulled the Rams within one run headed to the 5th inning, but Point Loma still led, 5-4.

In the bottom of the 6th inning, Ryder McDaniel and Tripp Clark came through for the Rams with an RBI single from McDaniel and a two-RBI double from Clark to give Angelo State the lead. The Rams took control, headed to the 7th inning, and never looked back.

Angelo State would score six more runs over the final two innings to slam an exclamation point down on a dominant victory, 13-6. With the win, the Rams move to the College World Series Semifinals with a perfect record. Angelo State is one win away from the finals and has to now lose two in a row to be out of the tournament.
