AUSTIN— The UIL State Golf Tournament has ended and the Concho Valley had several teams representing in Austin.
The Boys played their state golf tournament last week and returned with some gold medals. Now, the Girls have played, and the San Angelo area was well represented.
In 1A, the Veribest Girls’ Team placed fifth overall with the team of Ryley Buckner, Alexis Salvato, Aislynne Mendoza, Joslynn Mata, and Alyssa Ovledo. Individually, Robert Lee’s Kailey Freeman ended up placing seventh and Ryley Buckner from Veribest placed eighth.
The Concho Valley is returning some gold in 2A as the Mason Lady Punchers team of Avery Burns, Ainsley Burns, Raelynn Leifestet, Bronwyn Underwood, and Ruby Hills placed first with a Day One score of 326 and a Day Two score of 311 for a total of 637. Individually, Ainsley and Avery Burns placed first and second respectively with Ainsley scoring 78 and 71 (149) and Avery scoring 75 and 76 (151). Leifeste placed sixth overall with scores of 82 and 79 (161).
The Sonora Lady Broncos Team, Madison Galindo, Gentri Trainer, Lynden Cearley, Rylie Thorp, Jolenne Pasillas, ended up fifth overall with a total score of 770.
The Wall Lady Hawks placed fifth overall with Emily Green, Abby McMillan, Morgan Pullig, Channing Zesch, and Jacey West scoring 751.
