SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rams hosted West Texas A&M for their final regular season series at Foster Field over the weekend. Despite outstanding play throughout the weekend, the Rams split with the 5th ranked team in the nation 2-2.

Head Coach Kevin Brooks gave his thoughts on his team’s performance at his weekly press conference on Monday at the Junell Center. Watch that press conference below:
“We had a good chance to win the series for sure,” Brooks said. “We did a good job battling in the last one at the end, and we’ve done that a lot. We haven’t been able to finish those games, so that’s just something we have to do.”
The Rams trailed 6-2 headed to the bottom of the 9th inning on Sunday before falling short with runners on base to fall 6-5.
“Now, we’re starting a new season,” Brooks continued. “Our goal at the beginning of every year is to go and win the (LSC tournament), and we are in position to do that. We’re in it, and I’m excited to get things going.
Next up, the Rams head to the Lone Star Conference Championships, where they earned the No. 3 seed overall. The Rams host Texas A&M International in the opening round at Foster Field on Friday, May 3. The Lone Star Conference Championships is a double-elimination event. The Rams have won this tournament for the past two years in a row.
