SANFORD, FL — Houston Texans wide receiver Tank Dell recently made headlines after it was reported that he was a victim in a shooting at a nightclub in Sanford, FL, on Saturday night, April 27.
According to the Houston Texans, Dell suffered a minor wound in the incident but was released from the hospital “in good spirits.”
The Texans organization made a statement after the incident was reported.
“We are in contact with him and his family and will provide more updates when appropriate,” the Texans said. “We ask that you please respect his privacy at this time. Our thoughts and prayers are with everyone involved in the incident.”
Dell was Houston's third-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Along with quarterback CJ Stroud, he emerged as one of two rookie phenoms who propelled Houston to the second round of the playoffs last year. Dell broke his left fibula against the Denver Broncos in 2023 and missed the playoff run.
This is still a developing story, and more information will be released when it becomes available.
