SAN ANGELO, TX — The Central Lady Cats Softball team closed their home schedule in the 2024 season against Odessa Permian on Tuesday night, April 16. Permian jumped out to an early lead with four runs in the top of the 1st inning and held that lead to the end. Permian won on senior night, 4-0.
Before the game began, the Lady Cats honored their three seniors, Alexis Bakurza, Katelyn Waddell, and Emma Wilson. The three presented Head Coach David Milsap with a commemorative plaque before posing for pictures with Milsap and the other players.
Permian soured the mood early with four runs in the first. The Lady Cats recovered on defense and stopped the bleeding there, but the offense never answered. There were multiple instances throughout the contest where the Lady Cats put the ball in play, but Central never scored any runs. Several instances of multiple runners left on base turned into zero’s on the scoreboard.
The Lady Cats play one final road game this season against Frenship in Lubbock on Friday, April 19. The first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.
