SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 21 Angelo State Belles Softball team claimed another Lone Star Conference series victory after their Game 3 win over Texas A&M International in San Angelo on Wednesday afternoon.
Cheyenne Floyd picked up her 20th win of the season (20-5), and the Belles run-ruled the Lady Dust Devils 8-0 after five innings. Floyd becomes the first and only Rambelles pitcher to win 20 games in a season.
Angelo State kicked off its scoring barrage in the 2nd inning when Zoey De Baca led off with a solo home run. With a bunt, Ashton Dirner picked up a sac RBI later in the inning. The Belles led 2-0 headed to the 3rd. In the 3rd, a two-out rally scored two more runs for Angelo State. A pitch hit Keilei Garcia to set up another home run for De Baca, this time a 2-run shot.
Angelo State finished off A&M International in the 4th inning with four more runs. The highlight of the inning was Laylonna Applin’s 5th home run of the season.
The Rambelles improve to 34-12 on the season and 25-11 in LSC play; they close out their home schedule with a 25-3 record at Mayer Field.
The Rambelles are on the road this weekend to take on Lubbock Christian.
