SAN ANGELO, TX — Lake View High School hosted Dave Campbell’s Texas Football on campus for a special presentation on Wednesday.
It was here where Lake View received the 2023 Community Connections "School of the Year" Award.
This football season, the San Angelo ISD School Board Treasurer, Bill Dendle, was recognized for serving the San Angelo community with a special presentation before the start of Lake View’s football game vs. Big Spring.
Optimum donated $1,000 to the Lake View football program in Bill’s honor to celebrate the occasion.
Lake View High School was honored for winning the Community Connection School of the Year Award on March 27, after a month-long voting contest on texasfootball.com.
San Angelo Lake View High School received a commemorative trophy and a $2,500 donation from Optimum as part of the award.
In front of a packed audience at the Lake View gym, representatives from Dave Campbell’s Texas Football and Optimum presented Lake View with the award before San Angelo ISD Treasurer Mr. Bill Dendle said a few words to the students and staff gathered in the building.
Lake View then honored all its student-athletes for their accomplishments this school year before the Lake View Band and Mariachi Band played music for the crowd.

Lake View received more than 300,000 votes in the contest during the last football season. The award goes a long way in showing how important the Chiefs and Maidens are to the surrounding Northside Community.
