PECOS, TX — The San Angelo Central Bobcats traveled to Pecos, TX on Tuesday to play in their Bi-District playoff matchup against the El Paso Montwood Rams. El Paso Montwood saw an early opportunity just five minutes into the contest when a perfect pass slid through the ‘Cats' defense. The Rams capitalized and put a goal on the board. Down 1-0, Central struggled throughout the first half to generate meaningful shots of their own. The Bobcats trailed 1-0 headed to the break.

Central completely turned their fortunes around in the second half. The Bobcats played much better on offense. They controlled possession for most of the second half and spent the majority of that possession on the Rams’ half of the field. However, despite the better play, the Rams remained rock solid on defense. Central put shots up but never managed to score.

The ‘Cats best opportunity to find an equalizer came with less than four minutes to play. Central attempted several free kicks and corner kicks that had to be saved by Montwood’s keeper. All credit should be given to that keeper because he saved six or seven shots in the final two minutes alone. Central couldn’t manage to score in the end and fell to Montwood, 1-0.
