A widely respected economic prognosticator, Forbes writes editorials for each issue of Forbes magazine under the heading "Fact and Comment." He is the only writer to have won the highly prestigious Crystal Owl Award four times for the accuracy of his economic forecasts.

In his popular webcast, "What's Ahead," Forbes gives insightful analyses of events, as well as engaging the world's leading newsmakers, politicians and pioneers in business and economics in captivating conversations.

Forbes also helped create the award-winning documentary titled "In Money We Trust?" that was inspired by his book, "Money: How the Destruction of the Dollar Threatens the Global Economy - and What We Can Do About It." He also recently launched a series on the educational website, Izzit.org, that presents inspirational stories and lessons from history's greatest innovators - many largely forgotten - whose achievements have shaped modern life.

In 1996 and 2000, Forbes campaigned vigorously for the Republican nomination for the presidency. Key to his platform were a flat tax, medical savings accounts, a stable dollar, a new social system for working Americans, parental choice of schools for their children, term limits and a strong national defense. He continues to energetically promote this agenda.

The TTU Free Market Institute at ASU aims to advance research and teaching related to the free enterprise system, and donor support helps the institute continue its speaker series and student programming. In celebration of the institute's five years on the ASU campus, an anonymous donor has pledged to match all future monetary gifts for the institute up to $250,000. Gifts can be made online at angelo.edu/fmi or by contacting the ASU Office of Development and Alumni Relations at 325-942-2116.
