FRISCO, TX — Central High School has some serious hardware coming home from the 2024 State Powerlifting competition this week. DeHoyos competed in the 123-pound competition, where she not only won her weight class but also set the Texas State record for squat in the 123-pound division. DeHoyos saw the previous record, 405 pounds, as beatable, so she successfully squatted 410 pounds to etch her name into the record books.

Jaylen totaled a 185lb Bench Press, a 410lb squat, and finally a 365lb deadlift to total 965 lbs. The final results were far and above the rest of the field as she beat the second-place finisher, Jo Villanueva from Weslaco, by exactly 100 pounds.
