Rambelles Win Weekend Series Over Oklahoma Christian

SAN ANGELO, TX — The No. 23 Angelo State Belles Softball team capped off their weekend series with a 4-1 win over Oklahoma Christian on Sunday. The Belles did all their damage in the 4th inning, making the difference as Angelo State clinched the weekend LSC series 2-1.

After Oklahoma Christian took a 1-0 in the 2nd inning, the Belles had work to do if they wanted to win the day. Laylonna Applin kickstarted the Angelo State's offense with a solo homerun in the bottom of the 4th inning to tie the game. A single from Keilei Garcia and a walk from Erin Plunkett set the Belles up for more damage later in the 4th.

Layni Tanner stepped up to the plate and hammered a triple to left-center field to score Garcia and Plunkett. The Belles took the lead but weren't done there. Tanner would later score on a sac-fly RBI from Zoey De Baca to make the score 4-1 headed to the 5th inning.

The No. 23 Belles return to action on Friday, March 8, when they travel to Portales, New Mexico, to take on Eastern New Mexico for a 3-game LSC series on Friday and Saturday.
