Explosive Start Lifts the 'Cats Over Mojo

SAN ANGELO, TX — The San Angelo Central Bobcats hosted the Odessa Permian Panthers on Tuesday night at Central High School. The ‘Cats lost the first matchup in Odessa a few weeks back after a slow offensive start to the game. Central did not have a repeat performance that night, as the Bobcats had no trouble scoring on offense. The ‘Cats never trailed in the game and beat the Panthers 59-49.

Check some of the highlights from tonight's game below:

Central jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter after the Bobcats knocked down some open shots. Great defense let the ‘Cats build a solid advantage, and they led by ten points after one. Talmadge Taylor led the Bobcats throughout the first half, scoring nine points in the first two quarters.

Permian went on an 8-0 run to start the second half after Central committed three straight turnovers. Up 32-31, the Bobcats quashed the potential comeback and went on a run of their own. The momentum completely shifted when Taylor received a pass, took two steps, and threw down an emphatic slam to put the Bobcats back up by eight points.
