IRVING, TX — The Big 12 Conference announced on Tuesday, January 30, its first 16-team conference football schedule for the 2024 season. The Texas Tech Red Raiders will see new and familiar faces next season.
2024 will mark the debut of new members, Arizona, Arizona State, and Utah as Big 12 Conference members, and the return of the Colorado Buffaloes to the league. There will continue to be no divisions in the Big 12 in 2024. League members will play nine conference games ending over Thanksgiving weekend. The Conference season culminates with the 2024 Big 12 Football Championship Game on Saturday, December 7, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX.
Texas Tech begins its 2024 campaign with four home games in the first five weeks. The Red Raiders host Abilene Christian on 8/31, travel to Washington State on 9/7, and then return home to play North Texas on 9/14. Texas Tech then opens up Big 12 conference play at home against Arizona State on 9/21 and finally finishes the home stretch in Lubbock against Cincinnati on 9/28. The Red Raiders do not play a fellow Texas Big 12 member until after their bye week when Tech plays the Baylor Bears at home on 10/19.
Other notable matchups include TCU in Fort Worth on 10/26, Oklahoma State on the road in Stillwater on 11/23, and at home against Primetime Deon Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes on 11/09.

The new Big 12 will certainly take some getting used to after the Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners exit the SEC. College Football’s new conference look will feature multiple super conferences next season. Head Coach Joey McGuire is entering his third season as the Red Raiders head coach, and fans and alumni want to see results in the new Big 12.
