SAN ANGELO— The Angelo State Rambelles fought off a late game surge from the St. Mary’s Rattlers, 75-71.
The Belles had an eight-point lead going into the third quarter but when the fourth came around, they only held a two-point lead, 58-56. With nine minutes remaining, the Rattlers tied the game and within the minute, took the lead, 60-58. The Belles battled over the next four minutes, and we had a tied game with 4:37 left in the game, 63-63.
Eventually, the Belles would gain the lead inside the final minutes and come out of this one victorious, 75-71, with their leading scorers being Tayjana McGhee-Pleasant and Maddie Stephens, who had 32 and 12 points respectively.
The Angelo State Rambelles play again at the Junell Center at Angelo State University on Saturday, January 27, 2024, against the St. Edwards. Tipoff is currently set for 1:00 p.m.
