Concho Valley Cheer Squads Wrap Up State Competition

 

FORT WORTH, TX — Several Concho Valley high schools competed in the UIL State Spirit Competition in Fort Worth over the weekend. Nearly every school from the area that went to state placed in the Top 25, and the Central Cheer Squad even finished 6th place.

Here are the results for the Concho Valley in the competition:

6A

  • San Angelo Central Cheer - The Lady Cats made it to the Finals and placed 6th out of 67 6A-Div I teams with an overall score of 90.03. They are also the 2023-2024 Fight Song State Champions.

3A

  • Ballinger High School Cheer made the finals and placed 20th overall in 3A-Div II, scoring 80.13.

  • Sonora High School Cheer made the finals and placed 9th overall with an 84.97.
  • Christoval High School Cheer also made the finals in 2A. The Cougars placed 12th overall in 2A with an 83.53.

  • Menard High School Cheer was the only 1A school on the list to make the finals. They placed 6th overall in 1A with an 82.47.
