SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rambelles (6-3, 2-0 LSC) opened up Lone Star Conference play with two solid victories against Texas A&M Kingsville and Texas A&M International last week. In the process, Rambelles Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant earned Lone Star Conference honors for her career-high performances in the two victories.
The Lone Star Conference named McGhee-Pleasant its Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. McGhee-Pleasant posted a career-high 27 points on Thursday against Kingsville before topping that performance on Saturday against International with 28 points. In the second game against A&M International, she posted her third double-double of the 2023 season with 28 points and ten rebounds.
Head Coach Alesha Ellis talked about the Rambelles’ performance over the weekend at Angelo State’s weekly press conference held at the Junell Center on Monday morning. The Rambelles host two games in San Angelo this weekend, UAFS on Thursday and Oklahoma Christian on Saturday, before flying to Hawaii next week for the Big Island Holiday Classic. Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
