Sports Blog Writer Viciously Attacks 12-Year-Old Kansas City Chiefs Fan

KANSAS CITY, MO— A sports blog writer has viciously gone after a child who wore face paint and a head dress to a Kansas City Chiefs game this last weekend.

Deadspin, a sports blog website that covers everything from football, baseball, soccer, golf, wrestling, and everything sports related in-between has landed in some hot water after one of their writers, Carron J. Phillips, wrote an article claiming the National Football League needed to denounce a young 12-year-old fan who he alleged wore "black face" paint and an Indian head dress to a Kansas City Chiefs game.

The 12-year-old was seen wearing black and red face paint in the stands behind the Chief’s bench and was performing the “ tomahawk chop” to cheer on his favorite NFL team. That young man, and it has been confirmed by his mother, Shannon Armenta, is Holden Armenta.

The article is still up on Deadspin.com and uses a screen grab that only shows Holden’s face from the right side, the side of his face that was painted black. The tweet in Phillips' story actually got fact-checked by Twitter.

The writer, Phillips, asks many questions and argued that the "Chiefs" is an outdated name for an NFL team, likening it to the former Washington Redskins. Then, Phillips claims that this is what happens when people ban books, “Critical Race Theory”, trying to erase racism.

One of the question Phillips asks is who taught this young fan that it was “appropriate” to wear face paint and a head dress to a football game. Going on at the end to say that the image is “beyond bad” for the NFL and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell needs to say something.

As of yet, the NFL has not issued a formal statement on the matter. Also, fans all around the NFL wear face paint of their favorite teams at gatherings and NFL games as fans have been for years. What is more, the Deadspin writer may be pointing out that dressing as a "Chief" for a Kansas City game is cultural appropriation: A young, white, preteen boy is wearing an Indian head dress.

Well, the internet the boy's defense and the Facebook page, Read Kansas City Chiefs Fan even posted an update that may just end those “culture” talks. The post reads:

"UPDATE: During Sundays broadcast Holden Armenta from California a Native that belongs to the Chumash Tribe. His father is on the Chumash Tribe board up in Santa Ynez. This is his family at Super Bowl LVII. Everyone is making a massive deal out of this and only trying to show one side of his face to push their narrative. Real Kansas City Chiefs Fans Salutes You Holden and Your Family."

This morning, Phillips actually doubled down and, in a now deleted tweet on X, said:

"For the idiots in my mentions who are treating this as some harmless act because the other side of his face is painted red, I could make the argument that it makes it even worse…

Y'all are the ones who hate Mexicans but wear sombreros on Cinco."

Phillips first action was to protect the tweet so only people who follow him on "X" could reply. But soon he deleted it entirely.

This isn’t the first time Phillip's blogs have been CRT inclined with others that mention white supremacy in the headline and tweeting out about seeing white people in Flint, Michigan.

Let’s not forget the Covington Catholic’s Nick Sandmann, who was smeared and defamed by the mainstream media and huge A-list celebrities. Sandmann made bank after he sued his accusers. Covington Catholic High School had to close for a few days due to the number of death threats they, and their students received. Sandmann sued, and won, against CNN, The Washington Post, and NBCUniversal for smearing his good name.

At the end of the day, Holden, who is a child, was supporting his favorite team and a grown man attempted to make something out of nothing based off on insane information. This wasn’t an attempt to belittle or demean a race or culture. This was a Chief’s fan being a Chief’s fan.

I strongly believe that Carron J Phillips is the only racist in this story. He is also a leftist race baiting idiot.
