SAN ANGELO, TX — The Angelo State Rams and Rambelles Basketball teams hit the road for the start of Lone Star Conference play this weekend, with both teams playing on Thursday, November 30, against Texas A&M Kingsville, and on Saturday, December 2, against Texas A&M International.
Angelo State Rams
The Rams played three games last week and came away with two wins and an exhibition loss to Division I North Texas on Sunday. ASU’s Willie Guy hit a buzzer-beater to complete a 19-point comeback and beat Southern Arkansas 64-63. The Rams followed the win with a blow-out victory in their home opener against Arlington Baptist, 111-68. Angelo State fell to North Texas in Denton but fought hard the entire game.

Angelo State Rambelles
The Rambelles split two matchups at home last weekend. First, Angelo State downed Missouri Southern, 80-61, behind a strong performance from Sawyer Lloyd. Lloyd shot 7-11 from the field to score 16 points. She also had six rebounds, six assists, and two steals.
The Rambelles then faced No. 15 Tampa on Saturday, November 25. After a hard-fought battle, the Rambelles fell 63-53. Lloyd had another strong performance with her second double-double of the young season. The Wall native had 21 points, 12 rebounds, six assists, three steals, and two blocks.
Lloyd’s performance over the last two games garnered her Lone Star Conference Player of the Week honors announced by the Conference on Monday.

The Rambelles play at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and Saturday, followed by the Rams at 7:30 p.m.
